Ora · Effective date: September 19, 2026 · Last updated: September 20, 2026
Ora ("we," "our," or "us") helps small groups share prayer requests, pray for one another, and follow the story from the first ask to the day it's answered, through the Ora mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information Ora collects, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to you.
When you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique account identifier. Depending on the choices you make when signing in, Apple may also share your name and email address, including an Apple private relay email address.
We associate your Ora data with this account identifier so that we can authenticate you, sync your groups and requests across devices, and process account deletion requests.
We store the display name you choose so the people in your prayer groups know who they're praying for and with.
When you use Ora, we collect and store the content you create, which may include:
The text of prayer requests you share
Whether you chose to share a request anonymously
Whether you asked to be nudged for an update on a request
Whether a request has been marked as answered
Groups you create or join, group names, and group membership
Invite codes used to join a group
Prayer requests and member identities are only visible to members of the group they were shared in. Ora does not have a public feed.
A group invitation page may show the group name, group purpose, member count, expiration date, and invite code to anyone who has its private invitation link. Do not share an invitation link with someone you do not want to invite.
When you tap to pray for someone, or skip a request in your feed, we record that activity so we can show accurate prayer counts and keep your feed up to date across your devices.
If you grant notification permission, Ora may send you notifications about new prayer requests in your groups, group invites, and other service-related updates. You can manage notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
We use information to:
Create and manage your Ora account
Authenticate you through Sign in with Apple
Sync your groups, requests, and prayer activity across your devices
Show your groups the requests that have been shared with them
Show accurate prayer counts and answered status
Send notifications you have authorized
Provide customer support
Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security
Improve Ora's reliability and user experience
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your prayer requests, group content, or profile information for advertising or marketing.
We may disclose information to service providers that perform services on our behalf, including providers for:
Cloud database hosting and storage
Account authentication
Apple platform and App Store services
Security, technical support, and infrastructure
Legal, accounting, or professional services
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to Ora or as otherwise permitted by law.
We may also disclose information:
When you direct or consent to the disclosure
To comply with applicable laws, court orders, or valid government requests
To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms
To protect Ora, our users, or another person's rights and safety
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or transfer of all or part of our business
Ora does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your account, profile, groups, prayer requests, and prayer activity are stored in secure cloud infrastructure and associated with your account.
Information transmitted between the App and our cloud infrastructure is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS connections.
No security system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against every possible security threat.
We retain account information and cloud-stored Ora data while your account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify information associated with your Ora account, subject to:
Temporary backup and recovery systems
Fraud-prevention and security requirements
Legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations
If you're the sole remaining member of a group, deleting your account also removes that group and the requests shared within it. If a group has other members, your requests and membership are removed but the group continues for the remaining members.
You may request access to or correction of personal information associated with your account by contacting us.
You can delete your Ora account at any time from the Profile section of the App. Account deletion removes the Ora account and associated information stored in our cloud database, subject to the limited retention described above.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Request access to personal information
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of personal information
Obtain a portable copy of certain information
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

Ora and its service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Ora does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Ora is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Ora, contact us so that we can investigate and delete the information where appropriate.
Ora is a place to share prayer requests within a private group. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, or pastoral care, and it is not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Ora changes or as required by law. When we make material changes, we may notify you through the App or by another appropriate method. The effective date at the top of this policy indicates when the latest version became effective.
